In the spring of 2001, while attending University,, three friends from the political science program founded "The Noble Order of Knights Of Enlightenment".
Agreeing on the principles above, the three discussed the creation of an order, in which people could belong. This order would promote the study of the philosophical writings, reasoned thought and rational ideas brought forth by the founders of "The Enlightenment". It would also work as a group to promote and further the liberal heritage that made this country great.
Seeing the value of such an order, the three worked diligently to put together the group's components. Their ideas were accepted and voted into action on April 10, 2001 and thus was born, The Noble Order of Knights Of Enlightenment.
Member Recruitment
Shortly after its founding. The group first started recruiting members by word-of- mouth. E-mail, at first was used as the primary mode of communication for members. After the order developed to 9 members, email seemed to be impractical and inefficient, so the group decided to meet in a local coffee shop to debate and discuss ideas. Since that time, an internet site has been developed and membership has grown to include people from all across the United States. Although "word-of- mouth" is still used and some members still gather in that local coffee shop, recruitment and discussions now mostly take place by email, in chat rooms and in discussion forums.
If you are interested in joining our order, please follow the link to our Join page. We encourage free-thinking individuals with interest in our liberal heritage to please contact us.
